Based on a “Complex Beauty” concept to solve various issues in male hygiene

“My daughter was struggling with acne in middle school, so I bought a book on soap making that I stumbled on at the bookstore. I tried making the soap, and with continued use, it totally got rid of her acne,” says Osaka Ace CEO Yoshimi Ogawa. Originally a manufacturer and seller of female beauty products, by acquiring the same manufacturing licenses as the largest enterprises, the company was able to start making authentic soaps that have powerful medicinal effects and are gentle on the skin. Made from 100% vegetable oils, the products use no preservatives, synthetic perfumes, synthetic surfactants, or coloring agents. At the same time, the company is able to manufacture these products in small lots by hand, something that large enterprises are unable to offer. “Our products are made from mostly edible ingredients, and we also test in advance to determine the freshness of the oil that is used in our soap,” says Ogawa.

Furthermore, in order to differentiate the product, the product is being sold with a specific concept, with the target narrowed down to men. What resulted was Otona Sekken, which was developed based on targeting hygiene issues shared amongst men, returning them back to their original, confident glow. The company indicated troublesome odor areas shared among men, solving each with compounds such as persimmon tannin and char dry distilled liquid (which has high deodorizing and anti-bacterial effects), charcoal (which has high antibacterial effects), and bamboo vinegar (which has high deodorizing effects). In the creation process, the effects are replicated and verified by having around 80 men try out the product. The soap is designed to be both effective and enjoyable to use. The products are pleasing more and more men each year. They also make a great gift for spouses, boyfriends, and friends.
